The Faculty of Applied Science and CHBE donors generously provide funding, close to $200,000 annually, for scholarships supporting CHBE students.
Most scholarships are merit-based awards for academic achievement but some may consider community involvement, areas of study, or other parameters. Scholarships are granted in November, based on prior academic year performance and in May, based on the performance of the academic year just completed. Students are notified through SIS of awards. Students on co-op will receive awards the following year when they return for studies.

| Stuart D. CAVERS Memorial Scholarship | Prof. Stuart D. Cavers, B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc. (Brit. Col.), Ph.D. (Cal Tech), FCIC, P. Eng. (1920-1983) was a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering for 27 years. He took a keen interest in students scholastically and in their activities outside the classroom and after graduation. Prof. Cavers played an active role in the university, professional and community affairs including serving on various President’s advisory committees and two terms on Senate. In his memory, a scholarship of $900 has been donated by his colleagues, friends, staff, family and students to support and encourage promising undergraduates in the Department of Chemical Engineering. | $900 |

| CHEMICAL Engineering Entrance Scholarship | A scholarship of $550 has been endowed through donations from the pulp and paper and petroleum industries and former students. | FORTY-First Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference Scholarship | A $5,850 scholarship has been endowed by the 41st Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference held in Vancouver in 1991 and by matching funds.
